Passive service checks are better used for those services which are asynchronous in nature and do not change their state at periodic times hence active is not used for these.
The format of the command is as follows -
[] PROCESS_SERVICE_CHECK_RESULT;;;;
where,
Timestamp - is the format for the execution of the command.
host_name
Description - for service definition.
Return code - (0=OK, 1=WARNING, 2=CRITICAL, 3=UNKNOWN)
