It is essential for a business analyst to have its toolkit ready, prior to starting gathering requirements from the business. Checklists are important to make sure you are not forgetting that you already know. Checklist required to make your time efficient and reduce think time on what’s next. A checklist is like automating mindless work and focusing energy on core analysis work. It is very likely to forget if you don’t have things written. Below is the standard list one can create and modify as required –

  1. Project initiation documents
  2. List of Stakeholders
  3. Organization chart
  4. Communication plan
  5. Meeting schedules
  6. Contractual documents
  7. Waterfall or Agile specific documents
