While acknowledging an alert or scheduling it for downtime, special comments can be added to let other user’s know the details and hence no action should be taken at any end.
These comments can actually provide an important piece of information as to why the service state is DOWN or the servers are put into downtime window.
Such comments play an important role to avoid any confusion especially if working in a production environment.
It's good practice to supply comments for any such window or false alerts.
