How to merge accounts in salesforce

To merge accounts in Salesforce, you need to go through the following steps:

In the tools section, go to the Accounts tab and click Merge Accounts, to begin with

First, enter a search string to find potential duplicate accounts. The list will help in showing the accounts that start with your search string.

You can select up to three accounts that you wish to merge and then click Next

In this step, select one account as the master record and choose the field that you would want to retain from each.

And, in the final step, click Merge and you are done.
