A business analyst can support an organization at various levels. It could be

Enterprise - At this level study, analyze and work towards the goal of an organization. An analyst needs to work with the policies, opportunities and surroundings to determine the next path for the business to meet its goal.

Operational – At this level, a business analyst works towards the preparation or initiation of project/s. Defining stakeholder needs, managing tools, feasibility analysis, gap analysis are a few tasks are required to start the project engagement/development.

Project – This is the lowest level of business analysis where you are involved with daily project requirement management, communication with the team and other stakeholders from business.

During your tenure of business analyst in any organization, you may get to work on any level of business analysis. One analyst may start with the top-level and moves down till the execution of a project or product for the company. Analysis done at any level affects the overall goal of an organization.
